Synopsis
Gabriela Mistral, the great Chilean poet, was the first Hispanic woman to win the Nobel Prize for literature. An important recognition not only to her poetic but social and pedagogical work: Club of ladies to reform the social mores and emancipate women, Director of the Liceo of Ladies of Punta Arenas, collaborator in the reorganization of rural education in Mexico and Consul in Madrid at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, in Guatemala, Brazil, Italy, etc and an active part in the political life of their country until 1957, when she died in New York.
